Woohoo! Zombies! Probably the staple offensive magic for necromancers, raising dead things and having them do the fighting for you. The more powerful a necromancer you are, the more you can animate. In this 'verse, animating undead is basically infusing it with your magical energy, allowing you to create a semi-autonomous thingy that's tied to your own power. Of course, as it's tied to your power, how much power you have puts a hard cap on what you can animate, and how many. Typically, bigger or stronger creatures need more power, as you either need more energy to move the sheer mass of the thing, or more energy to replicate its strength.

Of course, you don't need to focus on the thing every single second, as that would be pretty useless in combat. Mental commands are enough, and the magic (what with being tied to you) will continue to sustain the thingy along with whatever you wanted it to do. Verbal commands are fine as well, as whenever you speak, you also think that command, and the magic will be able to pick up on it. Again, the more things under your command, the harder it is to control them all. Being able to raise a single undead servant is the mark of becoming a low journeyman. By the time one is a high journeyman, it should be well within the person's ability to raise and command 10-30 humanoid creatures. Of course, with some variance between the different practitioners, taking into account variability of talent and natural aptitude.

Also, a new thing that some of you might have noticed, I now have an entry at Top Webcomics! If you've got the time, I'd really appreciate it and I will love you forever if you'll vote. Of course, you don't have to, but it would really make my day :) Right now, I don't have any vote incentives up, but I plan on having a new one every week starting next week, so stay tuned for that!

Vote submitted. :)

Well, she certainly knows how to ride in style, right? Now she just has to make sure she can hold on and not fall off.

Thanks for the vote, I love you forever!

Heh, and yeah. To be honest, if there were a wolf large enough or if I were small enough, I would totally ride a wolf around everywhere. Plus points if it's undead.

Check out other great comics!
