So... yeah, the variance in texturing quality is kinda obvious here when looking out the cave. Haven't gotten around to the trees yet, as I've been focusing more on the characters what with them being more important. I will definitely have to address the trees sooner rather than later though, as we are still in the forest after all.

If she has a broken leg, does she have some sort of magic that will help her sleep throught he pain?

She does indeed! The previous page has her say, "Thank the gods for pain dampening magic..." though I suppose I could have made it a bit more prominent, as it's easy to skip over.

I see you ditched the cel-shading. It was a post render filter, right?

In-render, actually. The cel-shading technique was part of the material of each object, so they would come out of the render looking cel-shaded-ish. I'm still a bit on the fence with this new style though. While it does offer more detail, I'm not sure if it looks more or less obviously-3D. It may still need some more tweaking until I'm 100% satisfied. Or at least more than 50% satisfied, heh.

Then I want to cast a vote for the new style! I'd admit that it looks a bit 3d-ish but the old style had some 3d-ishness in it, too, just a different one. The new style looks IMHO more like being done with modeling clay, with hint of 3D rendering. The old style didn't have that, it looked like... "somehow" done and then the colors were reduced to the absolute minimum. This is much easier on the eyes.

For a direct comparison, the last panel here is very similar to panel 2 on page 105 - I'm totally not on the fence here, even though I normally prefer consistency over a sudden change of style.

Check out other great comics!
