Really, why do boys feel like they have to go straight up fisticuffs over every little thing? Especially teenagers, guh. I should know, I was a teenager once. Accidentally insulted the other dude? Fisticuffs! Both want top billing at the school play? Fisticuffs! Spilled some milk onto the velvet embroidery the other guy was working on? FISTICUFFS!

...

...or maybe I might have been a bit of an oddball...

You had no fisticuffs as a teenager? Aww. Maybe you missed something. As weird as it is, I found a friend through one.

Well, some fisticuffs while doing martial arts, and those could get pretty intense. That was formal, monitored and controlled stuff though. But serious, both dudes really pissed off and out for blood fisticuffs that only ends with their friends dragging them apart? Nah, never been involved with that.

But I can see how you can befriend someone after getting into a physical altercation. Despite how often it's seen in cartoons and anime, it does have some basis in reality.

Full story: That kid was teasing me all the while in school and before and after school. Then one day, I think he tried to grab me, I smacked his nose (lucky hit :p) and ran. Next day, with some support of another (genuine) friend we went up to him, we talked a bit and instead of apologizing I said I would do it again. After that, the teasing was gone and we hung out and did kids stuff until (changing) school took us apart. Maybe I was not even a teenager when I hit him.

Edit: There was another... tussle that ended a friendship. It already was at its end and the tussle broke off all bridges to get back. So violence is not always the solution. Most of the time it's not.

Check out other great comics!
